Cabochard was created by the French fashion house Gres in 1959, formulated by perfumer Bernard Chant. The fragrance renonwned for its bold, leathery chypre composition that challenged conventional feminine perfumes of the era. The name "Cabochard" translates to "headstrong" or "stubborn" in French, reflecting the perfume's assertive character and the independent spirit of post war women.

These bottles represent a golden age of perfume making when natural ingredients and complex formulations were standard, before modern reformulations altered many classic scents. Collectors value sealed well preserved bottles for the hisotical significance and the opportunity to experience the original formulation as it was intended.
